AEW commentator Jim Ross has said that Dusty Rhodes would be incredibly proud of his son Cody’s decision to return to WWE.
Dusty, who was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007, passed away in 2015 after a career both in the ring and later as a booker for NXT.
Speaking on his Grillin JR podcast, Ross, also a 2007 inductee discussed Cody’s decision to leave AEW for WWE:
“I know Dusty would’ve been very proud to see how Cody did at WrestleMania. He wasn’t wearing polka dots and all that other stuff. He had his AEW act with him, music, and attire. That’s good, I don’t see anything wrong with that.”
Cody has said he plans on becoming WWE Champion in memory of his father who never won the title.
