John Cena’s next acting role could see him share the screen with Zac Efron in a new R-Rated comedy.
Cena has become one of the most successful stars to transition from the ring to acting with hit roles in ‘The Suicide Squad‘ and ‘Peacemaker.’
While speaking with Deadline, director Peter Farrelly stated that he is in talks to have Cena star in his R-rated comedy movie, Ricky Stanicky.
A description of the film reads:
“Ricky Stanicky is a fictional character used by a group of married friends to blame their misbehavior when making excuses to their wives. When the wives become suspicious of never meeting this person, the husbands then find someone to play the fictional character.”
If a deal is struck, the plan is for Cena to play the Ricky Stanicky character, with filming scheduled for January 2023.
Zac Efron (Firestarter, Extremely Wicked, The Greatest Showman) is also reported to be starring in the film.
