Johnny Gargano made his return on this week’s edition of Monday Night RAW. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has provided more details regarding Johnny Wrestling’s return.
Gargano reportedly “strongly considered” going to AEW before deciding to sign with WWE. He reportedly felt that while money was important, he also wanted to have fun and wrestle other former talent.
The report adds that people within AEW were interested in Gargano joining the company, but ultimately it was Tony Khan who decided not to make an offer. There was also interest in bringing Gargano’s wife, Candice LeRae, to AEW. However, it’s currently unknown whether an offer was made to her or her status now that Gargano has returned to WWE.
Additionally, Gargano also got to keep his real name, which is something that wouldn’t have happened under former WWE CEO Vince McMahon.
