During Saturday night’s ROH Final Battle pay-per-view event, we saw Jonathan Gresham defeat Jay Lethal to become the new ROH Classic World Champion. Gresham won the match by applying an Octopus Stretch to force Lethal to submit.
After the match, former ROH President Cary Silkin presented Gresham with the “classic” ROH World Heavyweight Championship. A huge celebration would ensue, with Gresham’s wife and Impact Wrestling Knockout Jordynne Grace coming down to ringside, along with the entire ROH locker room.
Gresham was originally set to face ROH Champion Bandido but Bandido ended up being pulled from the show after testing positive for COVID-19. Lethal, a former ROH World Champion, was brought in as Bandido’s replacement and the match was made for the original ROH World Championship.

Hell of a battle. That final octopus submission looked fantastic. Really fun show overall, and I hope they survive in some meaningful way moving forward. For now, thanks for the memories, ROH. #FinalBattle pic.twitter.com/mzq7kPHHeh
