Jonathan Gresham revealed when he found out about Tony Khan buying Ring of Honor in an interview with Sanchez Taylor for WrestleTalk.com after PROGRESS Chapter 130.
The AEW President announced the news earlier this month. Gresham noted that he found out when everyone else did by watching Dynamite.
“I found out about Tony Khan buying Ring of Honor with the rest of the world. I was in a hotel room in Ireland and I got a phone call from a colleague that told me what was going on online. Because I kinda stay off social media for long periods of time, so it was told to me by a colleague and I was just as shocked as everybody else.”
The current ROH Original World Champion was asked whether he’s uncertain about his future with ROH:
“I’m still wrestling around the world, defending the Ring of Honor World Championship, as you can see from tonight, winning other championships from around the world. For me right now, that is my goal – to prove not only to myself but the rest of the world that I am what I say I am, and that is the best wrestler in the world. So whatever happens with Ring of Honor, I still stand as the original Ring of Honor World Champion, period.”
