As reported here on eWrestlingNews.com over the weekend, WWE officials have reportedly been calling numerous veterans who have worked for the company in order to fill up the RAW and SmackDown rosters for the upcoming brand split. Former Cryme Tymer member JTG was among the names Forbes.com listed as WWE being interested in. Forbes also reported that WWE was interested in the following names: Carlito, John Morrison, Shad Gaspard, JTG, Shelton Benjamin, Kurt Angle, Jeff Hardy, Rey Mysterio and Bill Goldberg.
Now, FOX Sports and Sports Illustrated contributor Chris Featherstone is reporting that JTG is denying the reports. When asked if the WWE return rumors were true, JTG said the following: “Nobody called me lol.”
It should be noted that the initial report had specifically singled out only Kurt Angle, Jeff Hardy, Rey Mysterio and Bill Goldberg as those who had already been contacted. The other names WWE was “interested in” and didn’t say whether they had been contacted just yet. It’s possible that they simply have not received any phone calls yet. Those calls will likely be made at some point this week. We shall see. Stay tuned!
