Could Karl Anderson still be working the NJPW Battle Autumn event despite being double-booked? If you believe New Japan Pro Wrestling, the match is still on.
Anderson recently took to Twitter and said NJPW double-booked him for its November 5th show. Of course, that is the same date as WWE Crown Jewel. Anderson said NJPW hadn’t contacted him about the scheduling conflict and revealed that he wouldn’t be making it to the show.
On Friday, New Japan Pro Wrestling posted an article indicating that the match is still on. In the article, which you can see here, Hikuleo says:
“You think you forgot about me? I’ve got alot on my plate right now, but I can make time for you. What are you scared of, Karl Anderson? The second non Japanese person to make the finals of the G1, scared of someone who’s just coming back from a learning excursion? The former multi time IWGP Tag Team Champion, scared of someone who’s only had two title matches? Listen, you want to call yourself ‘bright lights’? Don’t forget who turned on those lights for you – New Japan did. And now you want to say those lights are brighter? You want to say your lights are brighter. Well don’t turn your back on us. Don’t forget where you came from. Karl, you want to hide from me? I’ll find you, and when I do – I’ll knock all your lights out.”
The article ends with, “Hikuleo is still scheduled to face Karl Anderson on November 5 at Battle Autumn. The event will air live in English on NJPW World.”
With that being said, it’s said to be a 16-hour flight from Japan to Saudi Arabia and it would be nearly impossible for Anderson to work both shows due to the travel logistics. We shall see.
