Last month it was revealed by Toronto musician Joseph Shabson that HBO was working on a documentary on New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) star Kenny Omega. Shabson revealed that he had scored music for the documentary, and revealed it was, in fact, focused on Omega. However, HBO’s Canadian team is working on the project, as opposed to the team that worked on Andre The Giant’s HBO documentary last year.
If you didn’t take Shabson’s word for it, writer, assistant director, and producer Corey Erdman confirmed the news on Twitter, in a Tweet that has since been deleted. Erdman divulged that the documentary will be titled “Omega Man: A Wrestling Love Story.” It will be released on Canada’s The Sports Network (TSN) on March 27th:
“I can finally talk about what I’ve been doing for a year. I have been writing/producing and assistant directing Omega Man: A Wrestling Love Story, on the brilliant
@KennyOmegamanX. Premiering March 27 on @TSN_Sports. Watch the early trailer here: https://www.tsn.ca/engraved”
The channel is not currently available in the United States. There’s no news on how United States fans can watch the documentary when it’s released, but we’ll keep you updated.
