AAA had hoped that Kenny Omega would appear at their recent TripleMania event, which went ahead without the Cleaner.
Omega, a former AAA Mega Champion, is currently serving a suspension from AEW due to his role in the All Out 2022 backstage fight.
Speaking in a recent video, AAA Head of Talent Konnan said he asked Omega if a video appearance was possible, with the plan being for the video to air after the Mega Championship match.
Omega said that he would be unable to provide the video due to “legal issues” stemming from the ongoing investigation into the AEW All Out 2022 fight.
El Hijo del Vikingo would defeat Fenix to capture the AAA Mega Championship.
