NJPW star KENTA, the originator of the GTS finishing move has made it clear he could like to face CM Punk if the latter returns to wrestling.
Taking to his Twitter account KENTA tweeted out the simple message of, “Give me CM Punk.”
Give me CM Punk
— KENTA aka Lil’K (@KENTAG2S) August 3, 2021
This has come just a few days after KENTA had commented on wanting to face Punk at a recent NJPW Virtual Meet and Greet. During the event, KENTA stated “CM Punk. I’m gonna beat CM Punk. I’m the real Go To Sleep.”
Despite sharing the same finishing move for large parts of their careers, Punk and KENTA have never met in the ring. The latter has on many occasions accused Punk of stealing the finishing move. However it seems in recent years, these comments have largely been in jest.
Though they have never met in the ring, Punk is rumoured to be AEW bound in the very near future. Whereas KENTA has made use of the working relationship between AEW and NJPW, showing up to attack Jon Moxley on the Beach Break episode of AEW Dynamite. The following week, he teamed with Kenny Omega defeating Moxley and Lance Archer. So, could we see Punk vs Kenta in AEW in the near future?
