Last night on SmackDown Live, Kofi Kingston was officially announced as the number one Contender for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35.
He earned this position when Xavier Woods and Big E defeated five teams in a tag team Gauntlet Match.
The new day had always vowed to get Kofi Kingston to the top of the mountain, and after they did it last night, Kofi Kingston posted a message of gratitude towards his brothers on Twitter:
“So many emotions flowing right now. I cannot even begin to describe how proud I am of Woods and E for their performance tonight. It’s truly humbling to have two people in my corner that would voluntarily sacrifice their health, their livelihood and themselves for me. It’s overwhelming. I’m so grateful and fortunate to be able to call them my brothers…WE’RE GOING TO WRESTLEMANIA!!!”
