Kurt Angle has seen plenty of wrestlers busted open throughout his career, but none can compare to Eddie Guerrero at Judgment Day 2004.
During Guerrero’s WWE Championship defense against JBL, Guerrero bled heavily following a steel chair shot outside of the ring.
During the latest episode of his “Kurt Angle Show” podcast, the Olympian recalled the brutal moment. He said,
“It was the worst gimmick I had ever seen. The worst cut ever. He hit an artery, and it would not stop bleeding. I mean, it was pulsating out, it was horrible. There was so much blood in the ring, and all over Eddie and Bradshaw — it was ridiculous. It was like half the blood from Eddie’s body came out of his body. It was crazy.”
Angle added that Guerrero was feeling the effects long after the match and was lightheaded the next day.
Guerrero would retain his championship against JBL but would lose the title to the Texan at that year’s Great American Bash pay-per-view event.
