Former WWE and UFC star Cain Velasquez is facing 10 charges including 1st degree attempted murder after allegedly being involved in a shooting earlier this year when he followed a 43-year-old man named Harry Goularte.

Goularte was charged with 1 felony count of lewd and lascivious act for allegedly molesting Valesquez’s son. Cain allegedly fired shots at the vehicle where he hit Goularte’s stepfather.

Although Velasquez’s team pushed for bail of $1 million, an electronic bracelet to trace his whereabouts, and for him to remain at home at all times, that was denied by the judge, which meant he had to remain in jail.

According to MMA Fighting, Velasquez will have to wait until August 19th for his official plea hearing. The former UFC Heavyweight Champion will also have motion hearings on August 5th.

Regarding Goularte, he has to deal with a civil lawsuit from the Velasquez family. The lawsuit lists several charges against Goularte, his mother, his concrete business, and her childcare business including sexual battery and sexual misconduct/sexual harassment.

It also includes training and investigation, negligent hiring, general negligence, retention, and supervision. Goularte allegedly had “daily access” to the kids under his mother’s care, and his interactions with Velasquez’s four-year-old son occurred in 2021 and 2022.

Velasquez’s son “suffered extensive personal injury including, but not limited to, severe emotional distress, humiliation and embarrassment as a result of the actions and conduct.”

A hearing for the lawsuit is set for September 6th while Goularte’s criminal case will have a court date of September 20th. He faces up to eight years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine.

This past April, Velasquez issued the following statement:
