News broke on Monday that FOX Sports has suspended production on WWE Backstage. The network recently halted production for the weekly WWE studio analyst show.
During today’s episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that the cancellation had nothing to do with the current ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, but rather due to budget cutting as FOX thought it cost too much to do the shows.
Meltzer said while FOX might do the show ahead of PPV events a couple of times a year, other people say that the show is done.
Many of the producers working on the shows that FS1 recently cancelled have been cut from the network.
