The jury trial for the lawsuit filed by Jackson Parsons against WWE for a traffic accident in July 2019 has been set for February 27, 2023.
Parsons alleges that Gaitan Thomas, a WWE employee and props expert, was driving a van rented by WWE when it collided with his bicycle. The accident caused “physical injuries, pain-and-suffering, disability and the inability and loss of the capacity to lead and enjoy a normal life, inconvenience, disfigurement, scarring, and mental anguish.”
Parsons also claims he’ll be dealing with permanent problems due to the accident, including “a loss of earnings and earning capacity, both in the past and in the future.”
Prior to filing the lawsuit, Parsons approached WWE in December 2020 regarding a potential settlement, demanding over $1 million. However, no deal was reached.
According to the initial lawsuit, Parsons had incurred medical expenses at the time in the amount of $171,430.38, with future medical expenses projected at $314,850.00. The estimated loss of earnings in both the past and future stand between $75,036.00 to $100,048.00.
The pre-trial period has involved Parsons and WWE debating on expert witnesses. A pre-trial conference has been scheduled for February 22nd on the topic.
