Lita And AEW Were In Talks For A Major Run In 2021

A new report from Fightful has revealed that AEW and WWE Hall of Famer Lita had spoken about her possibly appearing in the company.

The report noted that AEW had first reached out to the 2014 WWE Hall of Fame inductee back in 2021 to appear on a show. However, the two sides were unable to come to terms at that time. The reported pitch made to Lita was for her to appear in a top program facing off against AEW Women’s Champion Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. Talks between the two sides went as far as having a creative plan laid out, with plans for it to possibly happen around AEW All Out 2021.

The report also noted that despite Lita and AEW never coming to terms on a potential appearance or run, the talks reportedly ended on a “positive note” and that a potential run in the future remained a possibility.

Speaking on the “Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette” podcast last June, Lita was full of praise for the Lights Out match between her proposed rival Britt Baker and Thunder Rosa. Remarking on the podcast, Lita said the pair; “Tore the house down.”
