According to a report from Fightful Select, longtime WWE creative team writer Nick Manfredini has departed the company. Manfredini had worked for WWE for over a decade prior to his departure. The departure took place within the past few months. As of this writing, there is no word on whether he was fired or left on his own. Many people have been keeping the terms of his release quiet and it hasn’t been discussed much backstage.

Manfredini initially signed with WWE in early 2010. Prior to joining the company, he had been working with the Howard Stern show. One source described him as “heavily influential” in the creation of the Firefly Funhouse segments. He wound up being the one in charge of writing most of those segments. While he would often downplay any credit he received for the segments, Bray Wyatt was known to put him over backstage.

It should be noted that Manfredini’s departure came well before Wyatt was taken off WWE television for what is being described as an “illness.”
