Madcap Moss recently spoke on the evolution of his ring name and how it came to pass.
Speaking with the Danny Bonaduce & Sarah Morning Show, Moss revealed the origin of his wrestling last name, and then the progression of his first name.
Fans will recall that when first introduced, he was Riddick Moss. “Moss” was a nod to former NFL wide receiver Randy Moss. Upon his return from injury, Moss had traded out “Riddick” for “Madcap,” as he allied himself with Happy Corbin (though they would have a falling out and go on to feud with one another). He said,
“Growing up, I was a Vikings fan and a Randy Moss fan. So that is where the “Moss” came from. Now originally, I was Riddick Moss. Riddick was just a cool name, that’s kind of where that came from, that’s the extent of that. And then more recently in the last year, I came back off an ACL tear and I’ve been repackaged and kind of had a rebirth. And that was where I became Madcap Moss. And that came from the head man, Vince McMahon himself. So that is the entire story and nexus of Madcap Moss.”
Moss teamed with the Street Profits to take on Austin Theory and Alpha Academy at WWE Clash at the Castle.
