WWE Hall of Famer Madusa was nearly held back from competing at Evolution, the promotion’s first all-female wrestling event.

At the 2018 pay-per-view event, Madusa, aka Alundra Blayze, competed in a Women’s Battle Royal which that was won by Nia Jax.

Blayze recently appeared on the Café De René Livestream and mentioned nearly being snubbed from the historic event. She said,

“It’s amazing [WWE Evolution] and it was so cool to be a part of that. So that was actually my first comeback in the ring since I retired, right? Basically, and there’s a great story to that in my book. Oh sh*t! Wait until you guys read it. It’s a good one. I wasn’t gonna go… It’s not that I wasn’t gonna go. I was already there. But, I almost got held back and there’s a story in the book about that.”

The book Blayze is referring to is her autobiography ‘The Woman Who Would Be King: The Madusa Story,’ which is scheduled for a 2023 release.
