A new WWE title belt looks to be on the way.
According to a report from Fightful Select, several memos were sent out on Thursday night regarding Roman Reigns’ 1,000 Day Celebration as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion that will be taking place on this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown. The memos included the mention of a “New WWE Universal Championship.” In the early creative notes for the show, it was noted that there will be a podium where the new championship will be unveiled.
For what it’s worth, a new title belt hasn’t been officially announced by the company just yet. And as you know, plans are always subject to change. But as of Thursday night, this was planned for this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown.
Finally, it was noted that the presentation is described as being similar to when The Rock revealed the new WWE Championship in 2013.
