UPDATE: As noted earlier today, there are rumors that Ronda Rousey will be a participant in the all-women’s WWE Royal Rumble match in January. If that happens, most believe she will win it all.

It appears as though WWE is building towards an Asuka vs. Ronda Rousey WWE women’s title match at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans, LA, as Asuka is now using the armbar as her finisher. Of course, the title match would happen when/if Rousey wins the Royal Rumble and Asuka wins the WWE women’s title from Alexa Bliss.

Previous plans for WrestleMania 34 had Ronda Rousey facing Stephanie McMahon or Charlotte, but with the company building up and protecting Asuka, she appears to be the frontrunner to face Rousey. Of course, they could do a tag-team match to get Charlotte and Stephanie McMahon involved as well but that remains to be seen.

As of this writing, representatives for both WWE and Rousey deny that any deal has been made or even discussed. Rousey continues to train at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, FL.

ORIGINAL: At the end of last night’s WWE RAW broadcast, WWE announced that the first-ever all women’s Royal Rumble match will take place at the WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view event in January. According to sources, the impression is that Ronda Rousey will be a “surprise” entrant in the match.

As we’ve been reporting here on eWrestlingNews.com, Rousey has been training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, FL, alongside her friend and WWE NXT Superstar Shayna Baszler. The all-women’s WWE Royal Rumble match will feature Superstars from both the RAW and SmackDown! Live brands and the winner will receive a title shot at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans, LA. There is also speculation that some NXT women’s wrestlers may appear in the Royal Rumble match as well.
