Many in AEW believe that Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa is exaggerating her injury which is keeping her from the ring.

Last month, Rosa announced that a back injury has left her unable to compete, and Toni Storm was crowned the Interim AEW Women’s World Champion at All Out 2022.

In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reports that some in the company believe that the injury is legitimate but not as bad as she claims.

“There was a lot of division among many of the women and Rosa, basically the ones who made public comments that insinuated her injury wasn’t that bad or those who privately felt due to the timing of her saying her injury was serious and she’d need time off after being told she was dropping the title to Toni Storm.

“She does really have a back injury, that much is confirmed. As noted before, it is an injury that many people would have worked with to drop the title in the ring, and a doctor would likely tell them they wouldn’t be smart working on it.”

Rosa has been previously accused of having a fake injury, which is being used to keep her away from AEW TV.

It has been reported that Rosa has significant heat with Britt Baker (which has been the case for years) and Jamie Hayter (after breaking Hayter’s nose at Battle of the Belts III.)

Rosa has denied reports that the injury is anything but legitimate.
