During a recent interview Marc Mero discussed what his feelings were on Sable’s infamous April 1999 Playboy shoot. He also talks about the ramifications of the shoot.

Speaking to the It’s My House Podcast, Mero had this to say:

“At the time it was a discussion that her and I had that we decided to do it and… just a horrible decision. You look back on decisions and think what was I thinking you know but what’s done is done. We move on, we make mistakes in life and hopefully those mistakes become learning experiences, but it was not a good decision to make for our life, our marriage, our family, and everything else. Next thing you know, we’re at the Playboy parties all the time with Hugh Hefner. We even eventually got a apartment in Studio City in Hollywood and it was just not a good time.”

Sable, who was the valet and husband of Marc Mero at that time, would go on to pose for Playboy on two more occasions. Her April 1999 would go on to sell over a million copies, and was the highest selling copy of the magazine at the time. It also marked the first time a wrestler from WWE would pose for the magazine. Mero and Sable would divorce in 2004, and she is now the wife of Brock Lesnar.
