Following his title defense over Tony Deppen on Thursday night’s episode of Ring of Honor TV on Honor Club, Samoa Joe issued an open challenge for anyone in the locker room to step up and face him for the ROH World Television Championship. The challenge was answered by Mark Briscoe, and Samoa Joe was more than happy to oblige, saying that any day he could fight a Briscoe is a good day.
While no particular date has been set for the blockbuster match, it is expected to take place at Supercard of Honor on March 31 at the Galen Center in Los Angeles, California.
In other news, in a backstage interview, Christopher Daniels declared that that he was aiming for the ROH World Tag Team Championships. He said that he would have contacted Frankie Kazarian if he were still in AEW/ROH but would instead reunite with Matt Sydal. Daniels and Sydal will team up on next week’s episode of ROH TV.
Meanwhile, Wheeler Yuta defeated Timothy Thatcher to retain the ROH Pure Championship. Following the match, Yuta talked trash about NJPW’s LA Dojo. He was then confronted by New Japan’s Clark Connors, who challenged Yuta to a match. The champion accepted.
