Earlier this year, it seemed as if Matt Hardy had retired from in-ring competition, or at least was looking to take a long hiatus following a few injuries. Soon after that, we received multiple reports that Matt was working backstage with WWE as a producer, but in an interview with journalist, Akhilesh Gannavarapu of Wrestling INC, Hardy revealed that he was planning on returning.
“There is not a set timeline. Whenever I was ‘going home’ there were some issues, some nagging injuries I was dealing with. I had to go home and do some rehabilitation. As far as a timetable of when I’m going to return, I don’t have an exact timetable but I would say sooner than later.”
This is great news for Hardy fans, however, we have no word yet on any sort of creative plans for Matt. Hardy hasn’t wrestled since last August when he was working with Bray Wyatt.
