The TLC trios matches between The Hardy Boyz, The Dudleys, and Edge and Christian will forever be embraced by fans of the famed WWE Attitude Era. Despite there being three encounters between all the teams, Edge and Christian managed to win all three bouts. While the matches themselves are often called some of the best tag bouts of all time, the result is something that gets under the skin of Matt Hardy.

During the latest episode of the “Extreme Life of Matt Hardy” podcast, Hardy detailed his frustrations with WWE constantly booking Edge and Christian to win the trios matches. He revealed that he and his brother, Jeff, were booked to win one of them before former CEO Vince McMahon changed his mind.

“I was very annoyed by it, I’ll be honest. It’s so funny, Christian says all the time, ‘Like, I can’t believe they had us win all three of those matches. It’s so crazy.’ But it is what it is, and at the end of the day, the first time they won, it was up in the air who was going to win. I think those guys winning in that match was the right call.”

“The first TLC, Jeff and I should’ve won that, and I think that was a mistake for us not to win there. I would’ve been okay if we would’ve done the last one, and then The Dudleyz would’ve won that too, and then it would’ve made it even with all the teams and helped the legacy of the match that each one of the teams won one match.”

The Hardyz and Edge and Christian continued to feud throughout the years in WWE. At one point, Jeff Hardy defeated Edge to become World Heavyweight Champion. The only person remaining in WWE out of the four is Edge, who recently made his return at SummerSlam this past weekend.
