Max Caster has said that The Acclaimed is not this generation’s New Age Outlaws despite the inclusion of Billy Gunn.
Caster and Anthony Bowens have proven to be a hit with wrestling fans, thanks in part to their popular entrances that see Caster freestyle on his opponents.
While on Busted Open Radio, Caster spoke about comparisons between The Acclaimed and the Outlaws, who also had a popular entrance during the Attitude Era. He said,
“We call ourselves ‘the new legends,’ we’re not the ‘new’ New Age Outlaws. We are the new legends in wrestling because of what we have been able to accomplish just this year and once we won the titles, I told Anthony, ‘If we have a full year of just focused energy on getting this to be the most popular thing in wrestling and the loser popular thing in the world, we’re set for life.'”
Caster and Bowens are in their first run as AEW World Tag Team Champions, having won the titles from Swerve in Our Glory in September.
