Mercedes Martinez is All Elite!
During this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Mercedes Martinez made her return to AEW during a match that featured Jade Cargill and Thunder Rosa in the last semifinal bout to see who would go on to face Ruby Soho for the TBS Championship on next week’s AEW Dynamite broadcast.
The finish of the match came when a masked woman came out and attacked Rosa as Mark Sterling was distracting the referee. This allowed Cargill to pin Rosa to advance to the finals. Following the match, Rosa attacked Cargill until the masked woman came back in and pulled Rosa off. She then revealed herself to be Martinez.
Martinez worked several matches for AEW back in 2019. She was a participant in the first Women’s Casino Battle Royale and also worked a match on AEW Dark back in October. Following her brief AEW stint, she signed with WWE in January of 2020. She was later released in August of that same year. Since then, she has worked for Impact Wrestling and on the indies.
AEW President Tony Khan has confirmed that Mercedes Martinez is now officially signed with All Elite Wrestling.
