During the latest edition of the “WWE Untold” special that looked at Mick Foley and Edge, WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley said Shawn Michaels was responsible for making “WrestleMania Moments” an important achievement. Foley jokingly “blamed” Shawn Michaels’ history of big moments at WrestleMania. He said,
“All of this is Shawn Michaels fault. Michaels, I think, really put a lot of emphasis on that need to have a defining WrestleMania moment. I started almost feeling like I could hear the whispers behind my back, ‘Foley never had a magic WrestleMania moment.’ So, as far as I was concerned, I did not have that exclamation point and I needed it, bad.”
Edge followed up, saying,
“The WrestleMania moment, it’s trying to catch lightning in a bottle because you know that moment, if you catch it, that moment will be replayed well after you’re gone.”
Of course, Foley did have his own WrestleMania moment as Edge speared him through a burning table.
