Mick Foley was recently interviewed by Brian Fritz of Between The Ropes, here are the highlights…

On Being in the Rumble: “It was fun! When I watched it back, I thought that was pretty good even though there were times when I was standing around literally doing nothing. I was standing around and doing nothing with a purpose, like watching Ricardo. And I think at the end of those six or seven minutes that I was out there, I participated in some pretty good stuff. For the purists that say you should go out with a classic match, obviously the Rumble is not going to be that classic match but on the other hand, it was a huge audience. The whole back story of my kids wanting to see me in Mania was true and I had a good time. Honestly, moving forward, if I do anything in the ring, that’s probably the way I should do things — sparingly.”

On The Moment He Knew Rock Would be a Star: “Yes but it wasn’t until he got with The Nation. It was the moment — and I say this on the DVD (The Epic Journey of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson) where he said, I didn’t have it verbatim but it was like ‘with all due respect Farooq, the people was to hear The Rock’. He wasn’t just a guy with The Nation because his good guy turn was over. He really embraced it and from that point on, and the video showed this, that almost he tried worked. If it didn’t work, it was quickly replaced and something else was added. But he was really good at coming up with multiple things. He was somebody who milked the same phrase until it was dry. He really put his mind and imagination to coming up with different things.”
