During Saturday night’s Impact Wrestling Slammiversary pay-per-view event, some huge surprises were in store for Impact’s Knockouts division. For starters, Impact Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo defended her title against a mystery opponent, who turned out to be NWA & AEW Superstar, Thunder Rosa. In spite of her valiant efforts, Purrazzo was able to defeat Rosa to retain the title.
After the match, Mickie James came down to ringside, making her return to the company after being released by WWE several months ago. She cut a promo on Purrazzo, as she invited her to attend NWA’s Empowerrr event. Purrazzo denied the request and trash talked Mickie James, making direct reference to the infamous “trash bag” incident between Mickie and WWE. Mickie retaliated by slapping Purrazzo, then connecting with a “Mick Kick” to the Knockouts Champion.
