Mike Chioda appeared at the AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view event as the referee for the Owen Hart Cup Finals.
During the latest episode of “Monday Mailbag With Mike Chioda” on AdFreeShows.com, Chioda thanked AEW and Dean Malenko for allowing him to participate in the show. He also recalled a moment he shared with Owen Hart’s son. He said,
“I spoke to his son … It was nice talking to him, and he wasn’t too familiar as far as I think updated with the business … I showed him the picture of Owen, myself, and the 1-2-3 Kid, and Tatanka in Israel, and he said, ‘Oh my God, I’ve seen that picture before’ … So, we had a really nice conversation for about 15-20 minutes and stuff.”
Chioda spent much time on the road with Owen Hart back in the day. Although Chioda says it was nice seeing Martha Hart present the trophy at the show, Chioda admitted, “It would have been nice to see Bret Hart there.”
