AEW World Champion MJF took to Twitter to take a subtle dig at WWE Superstar AJ Styles earlier today.
MJF is known to frequently mention WWE and associated personalities in his promos as well as interviews. He has also alluded to “the bidding war of 2024” multiple times over the past year. Whether his interest in joining WWE is a work or a shoot still remains a mystery.
The AEW World Champion’s most recent dig is seemingly directed at WWE Superstar AJ Styles. The Phenomenal One has often referred to SmackDown Live as “the house that AJ Styles built,” a phrase he prominently used during his main event run on SmackDown from 2016 to 2019. Retweeting a post announcing AEW’s return to his hometown of Long Island, New York, MJF said,

AEW returns to “the most magical place in the world” in the first week of April 2023. MJF is sure to get a reaction of a lifetime in his first appearance there as the AEW World Champion. But can he make it to Long Island as champion? If the ending of last week’s Dynamite is to go by, Bryan Danielson seemingly has his sights set on “The Devil.”
