MJF Teases Multiple Challengers For His AEW World Championship

In the main event of AEW Revolution 2023, MJF retained his AEW World Championship over Bryan Danielson in a sudden-death situation in an all-time classic Iron Man match.

At the AEW Revolution post-show media scrum, Maxwell Jacob Friedman discussed his future plans with his Big Burberry Belt, mentioning the likes of ‘Hangman’ Adam Page, ‘Jungle Boy’ Jack Perry, Darby Allin, Sammy Guevara, Adam Cole, Claudio Castagnoli and Eddie Kingston among those on his radar. He said,

“To be brutally honest, there are a lot of people on my radar. I am fully aware that Hangman Adam Page is a good competitor. I’m also fully aware of how I won [the Dynamite Diamond ring]. Anyone know who I beat for this originally? Hangman Adam Page. I think Hangman is scared of MJF, and I think Hangman knows better than to come anywhere near MJF for the time being. There are other people here that I genuinely, really really don’t like. I also don’t love the fact that a guy like Jungle Boy or Darby Allin or Sammy Guevara is allowed to walk around like they are homegrown superstars. Yes, they are homegrown, they’re very solid, but at this point, I think it’s very obvious that there is only one pillar that actually holds this place up. So, I would kind of like to prove a point there.”

“Adam Cole was talking sh*t on Twitter. Wasn’t a fan of that. He should keep his f**king mouth shut and maybe tell his girlfriend of his to do so as well. Are there more people? Sure. I don’t like Claudio Castagnoli’s face. I think Eddie Kingston is a crybaby b*tch and he is also a little punk, and I wouldn’t mind getting a chance to slap him across his blue-collared face. There are a lot of people that I would love to absolutely demolish both on the microphone and in the ring, but as I said, I don’t do dream matches. The only dream I have is to hold [the AEW World Title] and for the Reign of Terror to last an eternity.”

Earlier in the press conference, MJF burst into one of his epic rants as he made his way to the room to field questions.

To recap his title defense, towards the end of the match, The American Dragon had the Single Leg Boston Crab locked in on the champion’s injured leg for almost two minutes, but MJF proved his grit and mettle by refusing to tap out as the timer expired with the scoreboard tied at 3-3.

Per Tony Khan’s instructions, the match went into overtime, and MJF cheated his way to victory following a shot to his challenger’s head with an oxygen tank. Nevertheless, despite securing most of his falls in dirty fashion, the AEW World Champion was made to look incredibly strong and exceeded everyone’s expectations as he outlasted ‘The American Dragon’ Bryan Danielson to retain his title at AEW Revolution last night.
