For the second time in a little over a week, it has been reported that morale in WWE has once again taken a hit after numerous releases from the company. On August 2nd, it was reported that Bray Wyatt’s departure from the company had upset several members of the roster. Now, a new report from Fightful Select has made it clear that issues with morale have been going on for some time now.
Reportedly, several female talents within WWE have voiced their concern about the future of their booking ever since Johnny Ace was put back in his talent relations role. This was way before Friday’s surprise releases. Despite the heat that was on Canyon Ceman backstage before his release, there was “a lot of concerns about what direction NXT’s hiring was going.” This belief was then shared by a couple of wrestlers after names that were perceived to be “slam dunks” at WWE’s recent tryouts were passed on.
Despite concerns rising after WWE’s recent releases and the names the company have passed on, it is reported that these issues actually stretch back to the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. To say there is a lot of “eye rolling” in WWE over the ongoing releases and creative direction of the company these days would be an understatement. We know of many current WWE Superstars who are frustrated and currently fear for their jobs. Also, while he’d never say so publicly for obvious reasons, Triple H isn’t all that happy as you’d imagine.
