As reported earlier today here on eWn, there have been a lot of rumors as of late regarding “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and him working another match. Austin, who will turn 54 years old in December, teased the idea of working another match on his podcast. Austin recently said the following:

“For the last couple of weeks, down there at the RAW reunion in Tampa, down there at the Madison Square Garden show at Monday Night RAW – people always ask me, ‘Hey man, you’re still in really good shape. You got one more match left in you?’ And I tell them, ‘Man.’ I say, ‘You know, it’s a tough thing to think about.’ Physically, would I be able to have one more match? Yes, most definitely, and I could make it to that match without being injured. Although the risks are always there, just because I think all of the surgeries, I had… where I had the spinal stenosis, and getting that bone spur taken off my spinal cord – I’m in a good place. Nerves are feeling a lot better than they use to. So, you know, in theory, could I have a match? In theory, yes.”

The comments and a Podcast One press fueled rumors that Austin could be returning to the ring for the next WWE show in Saudi Arabia. That event will be “Crown Jewel 2019” set for later this month. As of this writing, there are no plans in WWE for Austin to be making a return to the ring for that show. According to The Wrestling Observer, there is “nothing” to the rumors that Austin would returning at the Saudi Arabia show.

For what it’s worth, WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg (52 years old) received a payout in the range of $2 million for his match with The Undertaker at WWE Super ShowDown 2019 in Saudi Arabia last June. If Austin were to return, there would more than likely be another huge payout involved.

Steve Austin has also received “numerous offers” to return to wrestling for “significant money.” While Austin seriously considered them at one point, he never followed through with them.

Austin retired from active in-ring competition in 2003 due to being diagnosed with spinal stenosis.
