As we’ve previously noted, WWE has confirmed a mutual parting of ways with NXT broadcaster Mauro Ranallo. Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline has offered some more details on the matter. Meltzer noted that Ranallo missed some NXT shows recently as he’s in British Columbia with his mother, who is hospitalized.
While there, Ranallo came to the realization that he would not be returning to WWE. As of this writing, Ranallo plans to continue his work with Bellator MMA and Showtime Boxing. Meltzer also added that, “It was told me to me that he’s 50 years old, and it kind of brought into perspective that he’s here to be a mental health advocate, and doing wrestling every single week under that pressure is not what he’s here for.”
