UPDATE: As we reported earlier today here on eWn, Marty Scurll is no longer working for New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW). According to a report from Fightful, several members of the roster were not happy with Scurll being involved with the January 22nd NJPW Strong taping.

According to multiple people who worked the tapings, they would have made it clear to NJPW management that they wouldn’t have worked the show if they had known about Scurll’s appearance in advance.

ORIGINAL: Marty Scurll was part of the January 22nd NJPW Strong taping in California. It was rumored he took part in a post-match angle with Rocky Romero.

This led to fan backlash due to him allegedly sexually assaulting a then-16-year-old female in the UK back in 2015.

It was reported today by the Super J-Cast podcast and confirmed by Dave Meltzer that Scurll is no longer part of NJPW’s plans and he won’t appear on NJPW Strong.
