As we reported on Christmas Day here on eWn, Pat McAfee hasn’t been seen on NXT television since the NXT TakeOver: WarGames event. The reason for this is because WWE simply made the call to keep him off TV for the time being and he isn’t expected to return until the spring. McAfee joked about the news on Twitter, saying, “I think I got fired on Christmas.”
During today’s episode of WOR, Dave Meltzer noted that there isn’t any heat between McAfee and WWE management. WWE simply wants to keep him off TV to give his character a break. He said,
“I can tell you, he did nothing wrong. There was no heat. I mean, I was told that specifically. There’s no heat on either side. It’s just they wanted him off for a little while. That’s what I was told.”
