Even more details from the post-AEW All Out backstage fight between CM Punk, The Elite, and Ace Steel continue to leak.
According to a report from Fightful, this part of the story comes from The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega’s side.
Several people close to The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega claim the Bucks simply went to talk with CM Punk following the scrum, which Punk has always said that anyone with a problem with him should approach him backstage. The now-former AEW World Champion once again made this clear during the All Out media scrum.
While the CM Punk side says The Young Bucks pounded on the door and basically wound up kicking it down, those on the Bucks and Omega’s side said they simply knocked on the door, and when there was no answer, they opened it and Punk immediately began throwing sucker punches at Matt Jackson. This was before Jackson could barely get any words out.
When Nick Jackson went in to assist his brother, Ace Steel threw a chair that hit Nick in the face. Steel’s side claims he was angry because his wife, who is dealing with a broken foot, was in the room looking after Punk’s dog Larry and couldn’t get out of the way.
Kenny Omega’s involvement in the fight largely consisted of him trying to remove Larry from the situation to keep him safe. The dog was said to have been losing it and barking loudly during the fight. After Omega handed Larry off to someone, he allegedly tried to get Ace Steel off Nick Jackson. At that point, Steel bit Omega and pulled his hair. When someone joked that “he got bit,” one person assumed the dog was the one who bit Omega. Following the fight, the two sides continued shouting at each other as they walked away. Additionally, there were legal threats made from CM Punk’s side.
Of course, this is only one side of the story and is quite a bit different than the side shared by those who are close to CM Punk and Ace Steel. As always, there are two sides to every story.
