Courtesy a report from Fightful we now know a little more regarding Luke Harper’s relationship with Vince McMahon:
“A source close to the situation spoke of the Harper vs. EC3 match and said that Vince McMahon himself seemed to have a long-term issue with Luke Harper and that whatever happened wouldn’t have mattered anyway, going as far as to say that McMahon “decided to hate anything he was involved in long ago.”
There were also reports of McMahon simply souring on Harper for his inability to pull off a Southern accent. Harper openly requested his release on April 10 and it was denied with an additional six months added for relapse time due to injury.
