Montel Vontavious Porter known in short form simply as MVP recently appeared on CNN yesterday.
During his appearance on the popular news channel he discussed the voting rights of ex-felons. The man who’s real name is Alvin Burke Jr has prior felony charges himself.
At the age of 16 he was convicted of armed robbery and kidnapping. He served 9.5 years of a 18.5 year prison sentence, during which he converted to Islam changing his name to Hassan Hamin Assad in the process.
Amid the debate on ex-felons and voting rights, pro wrestler Hassan “MVP” Assad (@The305MVP), who served 9 years in prison, tells @smerconish: “We need to have a conversation in our society that changes the way we look at people who have been to prison.” https://t.co/Aluy8FCkNg pic.twitter.com/eMXNBkT5YK
