New details about the streaming deal between OVW and Netflix have emerged that could have implications for WWE and AEW.
For those who are unaware, Netflix and OVW reached a deal earlier this year to begin streaming the promotion on their platform. Today, Fightful Select reported that Netflix has right of first refusal to obtain OVW’s streaming rights. The reason this is notable is because Netflix has looked into streaming live content. If this is true, and if the partnership with OVW is successful, Netflix could position themselves as a player in the rights fees negotiations with WWE and AEW in the years to come.
Fightful’s report also explains how the deal between OVW and Netflix has been months in the making and features producers involved with Last Chance U. Filming for the series began with the May 27th show from Georgetown, KY.
