Earlier this month it was reported the upcoming event Backlash was canceled. However this is only partially true, Backlash was indeed canceled but the event itself remains intact.
The new name for the event will be WWE Stomping Grounds. Earlier this year a trademark was filed under this name for what was thought to be for a television show similar to WWE Tough Enough or WWE Breaking Ground.
Due to the upcoming Saudi Arabia show, it is said WWE did not want a name like Backlash soo soon after. The company would be opening themselves up to numerous jokes from not only the WWE Universe but potentially media outlets as well.
The venue with a new date set of June 23rd and starting at 3:30 pm has released the following event information.
