Baron Corbin had a rough few weeks during the month of August. Corbin unsuccessfully cashed in his Money In The Bank briefcase and following that, he took a pin from John Cena in the opening match of SummerSlam. It was then reported via the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, that Corbin’s push was stopped due to him having heat because of a backstage incident.
PWInsider has come out and released another report, stating that Corbin may have drew heat towards himself during a recent talent meeting with Dr. Joseph Maroon. Maroon, who is a WWE doctor, as well as one of the best doctors in CTE and concussion studies was reportedly describing a CTE study in NFL players in a way that “downplayed” proof that anyone who has played football would develop CTE. As most of you are aware, Corbin is a former NFL player and was said to have cut off Dr. Maroon to share his opinion on the subject.
Corbin was said to have been challenging Maroon’s comments and stated that he was a part of the lawsuit against the NFL on the very topic of concussions. PWInsider added that Maroon tried to explain his comments and it slowly became awkward from there. The site also noted that although Corbin was not yelling or raising his voice in any manner, it was simply the wrong time to speak and it may have been better on the “Lone Wolf” if he spoke with Dr. Maroon in private.
