There were a ton of seats at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, TN that were covered and marked off.
According to reports, WWE set up the seating for SummerSlam like a TV taping and knew they weren’t going to come close to selling all 60,000 seats to fill the venue.
As of yesterday, there were a little over 35,000 tickets out. The commentators have continued to say on the broadcast that there are “over 40,000 fans” in attendance at the event, but they haven’t announced an “official” number as of the time of this post. With that being said, WWE is known to inflate their attendance numbers for stadium shows.
