As seen at Sunday’s (June 20, 2021) WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event in Tampa, Florida at Yuengling Center on Peacock, Sami Zayn beat Kevin Owens in a singles match.
On Monday morning, Owens took to Twitter to imply that he’s taking time off from WWE. He wrote the following:
“I fought like hell. Now, I need a little break. I’ll be back soon. Thank you, guys.”
Dave Meltzer noted on today’s Wrestling Observer Radio that Owens taking time off from WWE TV is storyline related. There’s no word yet on how long he’ll be left off TV.
