News On The Backstage Reaction To Cody Rhodes Returning To WWE

As you know by now, Cody and Brandi Rhodes have officially parted ways with All Elite Wrestling.

According to a report from Pwinsider, multiple WWE sources have confirmed that the company has been in “contact” with Cody Rhodes since his AEW deal expired back in December and all signs point to a deal being very close to being finalized between the two sides.

While there is excitement among some of the talent in WWE about Rhodes’ pending return, several others have noted that from a strategic standpoint, Rhodes would become the first person to jump ship from AEW to WWE and obviously has intimate knowledge of AEW’s inner workings. Only time will tell whether Cody would be willing to share those details with WWE management.

As of this afternoon, Cody Rhodes is not listed on the company’s internal roster. An official contract signing between Rhodes and WWE is expected to happen imminently. One source said they wouldn’t be surprised to see Cody at the WWE Performance Center as early as this weekend to begin training for his return.

As far as the AEW Community Outreach Department that Cody and Brandi have both been heavily involved in is concerned, Amanda Huber will be taking over that role going forward.
