WWE has begun its tryouts for collegiate athletes for SummerSlam week. According to TMZ Sports, the nephew of NFL Hall of Famer Troy Polamalu has participated in a tryout.
Senior offensive lineman at Georgetown University, Talati Polamalu already has connections in WWE, with his aunt being Tamina Snuka. TMZ noted that Polamalu wants to be a role model for overweight kids. The football athlete said the following:
“Look at me. You can do this. You can do whatever you want, you just got to put the work in.”
WWE is focusing on recruiting collegiate athletes. The company recently announced the second group of their Next In Line initiative. The group included athletes from seven different sports.
