Nick Aldis had a phenomenal 2018. The Aldis Crusade showcased through The Ten Pounds Of Gold web series, put a spotlight back on the NWA World Heavyweight Championship that hadn’t been seen for many years.
We most recently saw Nick at the Ring of Honor pay-per-view Final Battle. He showed up to briefly stare down Ring of Honor Champion Jay Lethal following Lethal’s victory over Cody.
Now, Nick Aldis will be returning home to the United Kingdom for several defenses of the prestigious gold.
This upcoming Saturday he will defend against Ricky Knight Jr, who is the nephew of WWE Smackdown General Manager Paige. The defense will be for WAW, the promotion started by Paige’s family:
When @RealNickAldis was announced for @WAW_UK defending the @nwa #tenpoundsofgold the only 1 I thought of was @Ricky_KnightJr
What a moment for him, he's the future of the business, not just the UK. Can't wait to see the story these two, @Lagana & @Billy tell! 🔥👏 pic.twitter.com/wusBZ0YbBr

Should he be successful there, he will face a very tough Challenger in Jimmy Havoc the night after. That defense will be for IPW:
Maidstone Kent, Sunday 23rd December it’s signed….
This is no cookie cutter challenger…..the man looking to dethrone the @nwa Worlds Heavyweight Champion @RealNickAldis is…. @JimmyHavoc !!!!!

If he makes it out of those two defenses with the championship intact, he will finish the year in defense for PCW against Iestyn Rees. Rees was trained by former WWE superstar, Al Snow:

We know that the NWA has big plans for Aldis and 2019 as he’s already scheduled to defend against James Storm at an NWA pop-up event. However, these matches should be fun for Nick’s home country to see him perform.
